Philosophy and recognition
On 20 December 2001, the German Federal President Johannes Rau awarded “Mr Dirk Gustav Kronsbein, Düsseldorf” the Cross of Merit with ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. This, the highest honour the Federal Republic can award for services for the common good, was the high point in a series of accolades that have been presented to Dirk G. Kronsbein during his career by municipalities, industry or professional associations.
As well as his entrepreneurial achievements, whenever Kronsbein is praised mention has always been made of his exceptional engagement not only as an employer, but also as a sponsor of social and cultural projects in the region. The same applies to his commitment to people and the environment: the ultrafilter technologies have set standards and heightened the awareness of air purity in the workplace, and also and in particular during industrial processes. The other way round, since the very beginning ultrafilter has always attached great value to protecting the environment and conserving resources in the processing of compressed air and condensates.
And the entrepreneur also knows that his employees are always right behind him. As a boss too, Dirk G. Kronsbein always wants to set an example and offer guidance. He takes it seriously. And: he always assumes there is good in people. “Where other people say you have to earn their trust, I always trust people upfront,” he says, smiling. “I have always been one step ahead. But I have always preferred to treat my employees as co-entrepreneurs, giving them freedoms and assigning them responsibility.” He knows from his own experience that this is the only way that people can put themselves to the test and unfurl their own skills. For their own good, and that of the company.
